Little Nighttime visit

As excited as Sebastian was to be reunited with his sister, this was not one of his favorite moments with her.  She looked really peaceful when she slept, and he didn't like that.  He preferred her when she was on fire, so to speak, the ruthless Clary who wouldn't stop for anything, especially not him. Clary also did not react as quickly as he would've liked, and her first response was to bat his hand feebly away with hers.  God, were her reflexes really that sluggish?  And since when was she this easy to corner anyway?  

As he thought about it, he felt another surge of hatred for Clary's mother.  Jocelyn had almost ruined Clary, and her interference had set Clary back invariably.  Valentine never would've let this happen, Valentine would've made sure Clary was strong, always.  But he'd seen enough of Clary to know the warrior was still in there.  She was still salvageable, if given the proper encouragement.

And finally she reacted.  He could feel entire body tense underneath him as her eyes shot open.  He could feel her mouth try to open up underneath him, and when she couldn't, she just glared.  He chuckled quietly, that was the Clary he'd come to see.  The one that would never show her fear despite the fact that he could hear her heart racing.

"Now, now, none of that," he said as she tried to remove his hand, though he did lean away from her, then he grinned, "you should sleep with one eye open, sister."  He tightened his grip over her mouth, "Now, let me explain how this works."  He turned at looked over where he could hear Luke's Snores.  "You remember what happened last time I was here, little sis?  Luke was out for quite a while after that." His expression turned colder, "And that was just the preshow, this time he won't be so lucky."  He reached behind him, pulling out the same sword he had used before, "How long do you think it will take me to reach his room? You're fast Clary, but you wouldn't be able to stop me."  he let the sword fall to his side, leaning closer over his sister again, close enough to kiss her, "But I won't, as long as you don't scream."

He smirked as her glare deepened. Oh, how he loved Clary. He paused, reflecting on that thought. He'd said that word so naturally he hadn't really meant anything by it. Or had he? He leaned back, so he could get a better look at her face. It might've just been his brotherly instincts finally kicking in, letting him use that word so casually, but he doubted it. Still, despite what Clary might think he didn't really think of her in that way. At least, he was pretty sure he didn't think of her in that way, but in truth Clary confused him. He didn't really know what he felt about her.

He watched his little threat sunk in. He grinned; glad to know his sister wasn't as thick as some of the shadow hunters. Not that he was exactly subtle about it. And him threatening to hurt her family could hardly be a shock to her either. He could see the fight in her eyes though, and he wondered for a moment if she would scream anyway. He didn't really mind, in fact, he hoped that she did. He wanted to finish what he started with Luke.

But Clary did perhaps the most sensible thing of her life. She did what he told her too. He smirked again slightly, but his eyes were cautious as he slowly lifted his hand away, not quite sure she was really going to do it. He wasn't exactly encouraged by the fact that she was trying to remove his hand and squirm away from him already. And it was Clary after all. A silent, obedient Clary was unfathomable. But there was a first time for everything.

He lifted both his hands and backed away, a peace offering of sorts. Like he was saying, 'you give me what I want; I give you what you want.' He settled against her bedpost. Far enough away that he couldn't touch her, but close enough for them to still talk without waking everyone else up. And speaking of which...There was a very specific reason why he came for her, but all of that would come in good time. For now all he said was;

"Good girl Clary, we don't want the parents interrupting our bonding moment now do we? Well, one and half-parents." He amended, grinning, though he couldn't quiet keep his bitterness out of the word, parent.

"And we've sure got a lot to talk about, haven't we?" He murmured as he let himself relax by her bed, waiting for her response.
