Lukas Abraham Hexcaster
* Lukas, or Luke as people call him, is a smart and intelligent boy. He loves to read and write, being passionate and creative. He loves to be alone and just think and not be around people. He's kind and nice, but is very blunt and cynical, coming off on the wrong foot a lot. He's great with strategy, always thinking before he fights. He can spend hours in the library just reading book after book after book.
“It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.”.

- - - - Overall He's a nice guy, but is very blunt. He's smart and clever, but sometimes flaunts it out without knowing it'll annoy other people. Other than that, he's quiet and shy, often hiding behind books and shelves, but he can be fierce when he's fighting or practicing. He's not afraid of much, but he has a dark secret that no one knows about. He tries to protect his friends, for they are his only family.

He's smart and intelligent, but can seem stuck up since he can flaunter it around and not even notice it. When he's in battle, he's a take-no-prisoner warrior. Showing no mercy. He's tall and strong, but hates any form of sports. He reads and writes, and loves to do it. He's your average nerd, hiding behind shelves and sitting on windowsills and all over the institute whether it's in the greenhouse, the kitchen, or on the roof.
Being as blunt as he is, Luke has no time to deal with children, so he dislikes children from 5-10 but loves taking care of infants. Jace and Luke are polar opposites, contrasting each other perfectly. Fierce and strong Jace taught Luke his no mercy fighting style, while shy and intuitive Luke taught Jace his love for reading, writing, and poetry. Luke kind of neutralizes Jace's boastfulness with his shyness and vise versa. However, inside, Luke is slightly jealous of Jace. Jace being the fierce warrior and Luke having learned his fierceness from Jace himself. But Jace treats him like a close cousin.
Luke was never as close with Jace as Alec or Max, but he was very close with all of the other Lightwoods that took him in when his whole blood family abandoned him, being one of the few people that would venture to try Isabelle's cooking. He was especially close to Max, their love of reading and formats of art made them close, and Max was one of the few 5-10 year olds, (When Max was that age) that Luke enjoyed the company of.
But living in Chicago, Luke had never heard of Max's death yet.
Luke is a truly nice person, but he is very socially awkward, so he doesn't know when he's flaunting his intelligence or not. Sometimes Luke is like a ticking time bomb. He bottles up his emotions, and when something sets him off, there's no telling what he'll do. The only four people that can release some of his emotions is Sam, Luke Garroway, Jace, or Alec. Many people do not know of Luke hurting himself. When he does something terribly wrong, he can freak out and rip his nails down his face, or slam his head into a wall, or even cut himself and not place iratzes on it.

- - - - overall history Luke was born with his twin brother Simon, and his siblings, living great lives, wealthy, in Boston. He was training and living there, then something ruined his life. His family was trapped in the drawing room of their house, and were killed in a huge house fire. He survived because he was in the courtyard during the time of their deaths. His entire family was killed and he was shipped to New York to live in the Institute. He found comfort in his best friend Sam, a mundane he met at the public library, and Luke Garroway, who was a family friend. Luke (H) was named after Luke (G) and he was also Luke (H)'s godfather.
When people thought that Luke (G) was killed in the Uprising, Luke (H) kept on receiving letters from Luke (G). Luke (H) then set out to find him. Luke (G) set Luke (H) out on a wild goose chase to keep him from getting caught in the crosshairs of Luke (G)'s dealings with Valentine. Then when he moved back to New York, Luke (G) explained everything to him. Luke (H) was a little pissed, but he understood completely.
Luke (G) gave Luke (H) a job at his bookstore because he had no money left to his name, all of it went to his other family, none of them wanting to take care of him, so Luke (G) is the father figure of Luke (H) for his life ages 9 to 17 years. He's also gotten close with all the Lightwoods, including Jace, they are like his extended family.
Luke focused on learning as much as he could about anything, fighting included. He spends hours in the library, asking for his food to actually be sent to the library so he could eat while he reads. Luke will occasionally lock the door to the library to stay alone. He learned to horse back ride in Boston, so he loves to ride horses. He actually owns a horse, Apollo, in stables on the outskirts of New York.
The three people that he is close with like brothers is Sam, Alec, and Jace. When he learned of Alec's sexuality he felt like he wasn't the only one that liked from the same gender, and followed in Alec's footsteps. However, he's never really been in a relationship, getting extremely nervous and stutters whenever he's around a guy he likes. While he has no parabatai, he feels like that is actually when he's more powerful, alone. With no one to bonded to him.
He was living in the Chicago Institute for 5 years, on an exchange program for Shadowhunters. When the program ended, he moved back to the New York Institute, returning to his job at Galloway Books. However, being away has eluded him of meeting Clary or learning of Jace's relationship with her, and even Alec and Magnus' relationship.
- - - - rp sample Ouch, damn it. Not the most comfortable thing to fall from the top step of a metal staircase. Luke wasn't ready for it, and was unable to flip towards his feet, so he landed on his back with a WHAM. He got up, cracked his back, and leapt at the monster, saraph blade showing. The demon bared its teeth, the sharp, yellow pieces lined up in what looked like its mouth. Luke decided he needed a few, or all, of them removed. He landed directly in front of it and aimed for it's, or where it would be, neck. He stabbed and twisted, but jumped out of the way from the black ichor spurting out.
He apparently didn't get it in a form of its trachea or jugular vein. The demon simply pulled out the blade and threw it back at Luke. It landed at his feet, blunt as a rock. "Well there goes that idea," Luke said under his breath. Got to improvise, find a different weapon. He looked around the lobby, and grabbed a candlestick from a side table. Best thing he had, nothing else, he was out of blades. A claw rushed at him, and he swatted it out of the air with a quick swipe of the candlestick. A loud: CLANG, sounded when he hit it, the chrome metal vibrating in his hand.
The demon snarled at him, a second and third attempt at hitting him with a claw. It didn't hit Luke, but backed him up to the wall. Luke had one more chance at getting this thing, backed up against the wall and placed a foot on the plaster wall painted with white paint. So, he quickly hit his other foot against the wall, launching himself up outward over the demon. When he was close to it's head-like area, he slammed the candlestick into its head. It stuck inside it, pulling Luke onto the shoulders of the large monster.
Luke pulled out the candlestick, and slammed it at the demon's head, ichor flying everywhere. It screamed and threw him off of its shoulders. Luke climbed the staircase, skipping a step with every jump. He waited for it to approach the base of the stairs. Luke gave a loud victory yell and slid down the railing of the stairs. When he rocketed towards the demon, he brought down the candlestick like a golf club. It contacted with its head, making a snapping sound, sending the head flying at the wall. It hit it with a "Thump". The body slid to the ground and Luke flipped the candlestick in his hand. "Well, I can tell you, it was Mr. Hexcaster in the Hall with the Candlestick," Luke said with a little laugh to himself. [/ul][/ul]
